The Mosquito: Complexes as They Appear in the Body
Presented by Frances Wright, M. Analytical Psychology, Diplomate Depth Psychology
Frances will be referring to the poem The Mosquito by D.H. Lawrence throughout the lecture. You can read it and print it out here.
In his book Archetypal Medicine, Alfred Ziegler sees illness as one of the primary ways in which the “forgotten, sleeping soul awakens itself by falling into body.” In a sense then, the meeting of illness on its own terms means that we must “fall in” after it.
In this lecture, we will explore the psyche centered approach to understanding disease. The physiological expression of complexes will be investigated in the context of a specific dream of a mosquito.
Frances Wright is a Jungian analyst in private practice in Melbourne, Australia. She is a graduate of the Training Centre for Depth Psychology according to C.G. Jung and Marie-Louise von Franz in Zurich, Switzerland. In addition to her practice, she conducts lectures and seminars on dreams, the fundamentals of Jungian psychology and the interpretation of fairy tales.
